HR Department at Sun Life nominated for HRM Impact Award

The Sun Life Family Health Center, Inc. Human Resource Department has been nominated for an Human Resources Management (HRM) Impact Award.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the SHRM Foundation, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the SIOP Foundation established the HRM Impact Award in March, 2013.

The HRM Impact Award is given annually to U.S. organizations with successful, evidence-based HR management practices. Evidence-based management is a pillar of industrial and organizational science and practice, and Industrial and Organizational psychologists have been working to develop effective and innovative human resource management practices.

The purpose of the award is to recognize an organization that aligns successful HR programs and practices with the company’s business objectives.  There are nominees in the following three categories:  Small Company Size (1-200 employees), Medium Company Size (201 – 750) employees), and Large Company Size (750 and more employees).

Nominations are judged on the following criteria:

- Financial or Operational impact on the business or enterprise

- Impact on employees and teams

- Scientific impact on the practices of HR, Industrial-Organization psychology and/or management

- Quality of evidence that supports the financial, people and scientific impacts.

What does it mean to Sun Life?

"Recognition in the local, statewide and national business communities that Sun Life is one of the GREAT places to work in AZ," says Sun Life HR Director Dennis Krug. "Along with Sun Life’s other employee engagement efforts, a HR Impact Award nomination highlights the forward looking mindset necessary to enable the business to continue to outpace the growth of its competition.

"High performing and forward-looking HR Departments are often representative of those organizations whose workforce WANTS to come to work there and wants to STAY there," Krug added.

"Sun Life is proud to be nominated for this award,” Sun Life CEO Travis Robinette said. "I believe it speaks volumes about our HR department and the satisfaction of Sun Life staff.”
