Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. Mahmood moved to Arizona in 1993. She earned her Bachelor’s in biology from Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., in 2009, and then completed her doctorate from Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2015. She also earned her Certificate of Public Health in 2015 from A.T. Still University School of Health Management.
Much of Dr. Mahmood’s clinical experience is based on providing comprehensive dental treatment, restorative and surgical procedures to under-served populations of all ages.
She is also very active in her field developing community dental programs. She was a founding member and served as clinic manager and project coordinator for the CARE Partnership Community Dental Clinic from 2007-10. She remains on the board of directors for the CARE Partnership Board member. She also served as president from 2011-12 for the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, ASDOH Chapter, and as president of the Special Care Dentistry Association, ASDOH Chapter from 2013-14.
She has also served as committee chair for the Give Kids a Smile committee, and helped to organize a school-wide community health fair to treat over 500 disadvantaged children.
She currently lives in Mesa and enjoys art, music, and theatre.
