Ms. Opara received her Bachelor’s degree of science in nursing from Grand Canyon University located in Glendale, Ariz. in 2008, and went on to complete her graduate work at the University of Phoenix in Tempe. She graduated from University of Phoenix in 2014 with her family nurse practitioner certification.

She then completed part of her internship at four locations, Sun Life in Casa Grande, with a focus on family practice, Pediatric Medical Associates in Mesa, with a focus on pediatric care
Salud for Women and Children in Casa Grande, with a focus on women’s health and Maricopa Family Practice in Maricopa, with a focus on geriatric/mature adult care

Opara comes to Sun Life after 10 years as a registered nurse at the Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Ariz. She is certified through the Arizona State Board of Nursing, as well as through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner for her practice as a family nurse practitioner. She is also a member of the America Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Honor Society of Nursing-Sigma Theta Tau International.

She believes that the skills and strengths she brings to Sun Life is her “focus on health promotion, disease prevention, health education and counseling for patients to make smart, health and lifestyle choices.”

When asked why she chose to work at Sun Life, she said, “I admire Sun Life’s mission in delivering comprehensive, high-quality services to all people, regardless of ethnicity or financial status.”

Opara was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, and moved to Arizona in 2000. She currently resides in Casa Grande with her husband of 15 years, Kenneth, and her three sons: Lincoln, 13, Elliott, 11, and Broderick, 7. Outside of work, Opara said that she enjoys traveling.
